The average salary for database administrators (DBAs) is $47.53 per hour, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. People in this role deal use special software to store and organize the company’s data for quick access and insightful reports. The growth rate in the market is around 8%, as more organizations go digital. Growth combined with the number of people retiring or moving on to other careers could create a serious labor shortage of the DBAs.

1. IBM

Armonk, New York-based IBM has been around since 1911. It worked with the government in the 1930s providing tabulating machines. Today, its focus is more on artificial intelligence (AI) with its Watson line. 

IBM has 37 office locations, and you’ll find openings such as:
