Cybersecurity continues to be a pressing issue for businesses across the globe, with around 36 billion records being exposed in 2020 alone.
There are a number of cybersecurity providers that can provide cybersecurity solutions for enterprises in different industries.Â
We cover some of them here, by looking at case studies to show how customers are implementing their solutions:
Shipping: FedEx
FedEx is a shipping company that provides a variety of services including express transportation. It is a global company that offers time-definite delivery to over 220 countries and territories. Being such a large enterprise, it has complex information technology needs. Even though software developers attempted to keep their applications up to date, they constantly had to contend with legacy systems that complicated their identity and access management systems. Some employees were forced to sign in multiple times to start their workday. However, with the help of Okta, they were able to put together a modern identity access management system that gives employees the access they need based on a zero-trust security model. The approach is efficient and secure, allowing employees to carry out their work quickly and securely. FedEx was even able to integrate their critical apps, such as Workday, Office 365, and WebEx, within a 36-hour period.
Retail: Batteries Plus
Batteries Plus is a battery retailer that has over 740 locations. As a growing business, they implemented a new cybersecurity infrastructure several years ago using a managed security service provider (MSSP), along with some non-integrated tools that were managed in house. However, this limited their security visibility. Batteries Plus decided to overhaul their setup and start a contract with Leeward Business Advisors, a firm that leverages Fortinet’s services to provide cybersecurity solutions. Leeward manages several network and security operations for Batteries Plus, making use of Fortinet’s next-generation firewalls, Fortinet’s secure software-defined wide-area network (SD-WAN), and their security management and analysis solutions. With this setup, Batteries Plus is able to manage their cybersecurity needs efficiently and in a position to scale up their security services as needed.Â
Energy: Drax Group
Drax Group is a renewable energy organization with electricity generation operations in the U.K. They also own and have interests in pellet mills in the U.S. and Canada. They employ over 3,400 people and support about 200,000 customers. As a large operation providing a critical service, they needed a privacy solution that was able to support large numbers of requests and assessments as well as technology that could support collaboration across their various teams. They were able to implement OneTrust’s technology to help build out their asset register and improve data-sharing guidelines. Overall, with Onetrust’s privacy management modules, there is greater visibility into the effectiveness of data privacy, and there is a clear view of how privacy impacts the business.Â
Electronics: TDK
TDK is a global electronics company. It has customers mainly in the automotive and electronics industries. TDK needed a solution to help it detect and prevent attacks, reduce the complexity in its security stack, and decrease the rate of false positives for cyber attacks. It needed a solution that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to detect threats, since AI doesn’t have to wait on security updates to improve. With CrowdStrike, TDK was able to protect its 13,700 endpoints and cut down on false positives as well as save their IT administration team time due to efficient solutions. TDK estimates that they’re able to spend about 25% less time on security administration.Â
Data Center: US Signal
US Signal provides data center and cloud services to a variety of customers. These security-sensitive applications require high-quality virtual firewalls for cloud customers that are in information-rich industries like health care. US Signal chose Palo Alto Networks to streamline their security oversight. Palo Alto Networks offers US Signal an easy-to-automate platform with real-time updates and virtual firewalls for all of their networks. The solutions are also scalable, which supports US Signal’s expansion efforts.Â
