After offering low-band 5G network coverage to subscribers for some time, T-Mobile rolled out their Ultra Capacity 5G service late last year. Ultra Capacity 5G includes a blend of mid-band 2.5 GHz spectrum and high-band mmWave 5G, delivering a balance of far-reaching coverage with fast speeds.
Operating over 20,100 locations across the U.S., Bellevue, Washington-based T-Mobile currently serves about 106 million customers with over 75,000 employees.

T-Mobile and the Enterprise 5G Market
Unlike Verizon and AT&T, T-Mobile does not use the controversial C-band spectrum to provide mid-range, high speed, wide coverage 5G service. Amid concerns that C-band 5G networks might endanger air travel, T-Mobile continues to stand out in the 5G market with a median download speed of 191.12 Mbps.
By comparison, Verizon was clocked with a median download speed of 107.25 Mbps, while AT&T trails at 68.43 Mbps.

Use cases
As businesses begin to adopt 5G technology, T-Mobile is making the argument that organizations should embrace all three 5G spectrums (low-band 600–800 MHz, mid-band 1.6–5.8 GHz, and high-band 24 GHz+).
With 5G innovation developing, T-Mobile has identified several use cases that the technology may provide to industry in the coming years:
- Health care: Patients may be able to return home after being treated or having surgery with the availability of wearables capable of providing 24/7 monitoring. In-home care could be further supplemented, enabling traveling nurses to onboard patients, review and submit prescriptions, and provide interaction with physicians and specialists via video conferencing.
- Manufacturing and warehouse management: Sophisticated robots could be deployed and controlled from anywhere, enhancing safety for human workers, who can then be assigned to other less dangerous areas.
- Field operations: Reliable, high-speed connectivity can put skilled industry tradespeople in a position to provide real-time support, collaboration, and guidance in remote or distant locations. And immersive technologies such as augmented reality (AR) headsets and applications can make troubleshooting quick and effective.
- Agriculture: Though farmers are already using 4G to monitor crops and soil conditions, 5G can make this practice faster and more scalable. The data generated can improve output, increase profit margins, and stay competitive.
