A hybrid network is built on top of pre-existing network infrastructure. This deployment strategy allows for the use of both 5G technology and the original system simultaneously.

The North Sea
The North Sea project is made of 14 wind farms in the Belgian North Sea. The increasing demand for off-shore clean energy generation means the hundreds of wind turbines in each farm need a reliable connection with the others in its vicinity.
With laws mandating that taller and more powerful wind turbines be installed farther away from the shorelines, this increased the time vessels spend away at sea. In order to not lose contact, Nokia assisted the project in keeping the wind turbines and traveling vessels connected at all times using the 5G-ready, Nokia private LTE system.
“The high wind speeds in the North Sea and Baltic Sea have proved beneficial in producing electricity at a consistent rate, making the offshore farms important for grid operations,” says GlobalData in its wind turbine market analysis.
National Composite Center
The National Composite Center (NCC) is an independent technology center that delivers research on the development of sustainable composites in the U.K. Opened in 2011, NCC works with over 600 professionals in office and at the University of Bristol.
With the help of Zeetta Networks, NCC deployed a private LTE/5G network as part of the 5G-ENCODE project. It helped NCC change and control security, connectivity, and reliability, offering a risk-free environment in the industry.
