HPE Launching Center of Excellence in Madrid

MADRID — Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) is expanding its global and European presence in Madrid, Spain.

HPE established a Global Center of Excellence (CoE) for Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Data at its Spanish headquarters in Las Rozas, Madrid, according to the company this month.

The CoE is intended to centralize talent and expertise and help HPE meet growing demand for advisory and professional services in the AI and data markets.

The team will help companies apply AI, data, and advanced analytics in several ways: to uncover insights; create trusted transactions; and employ intelligence in new and ethical ways.

The CoE will develop and implement AI use cases and data platforms for customers in various sectors: such as finance, health care, manufacturing, logistics, IT services, and the public sector.

HPE will integrate the CoE into its global AI and data practice within its HPE Pointnext Services organization. The center will also work with the HPE AI Ethics Working Group.

HPE plans to “create opportunities” with the local technology ecosystem by involving companies and partners in projects and activities.

The center is expected to create new jobs in Spain, particularly roles targeted at early career professionals. HPE has started recruiting and is in discussions with local universities targeting graduates and post-graduates.

In the coming years, HPE foresees the creation of about 100 jobs, with an investment of about 15 million euros.

The center will help companies “extract more value from the growing volumes of data across their organizations,” said José María de la Torre, SVP and managing director, HPE Southern Europe and president HPE Spain.
