SAN JOSE, Calif. — McLaren Racing and Cisco are expanding their relationship.
McLaren Racing and Cisco entered a multi-year global partnership for Cisco to become the Formula 1 team’s official technology partner, according to Cisco last month.
McLaren will use Cisco’s expertise and technology to enhance its technical infrastructure on race day and at the team’s headquarters as well as to connect with fans.
Cisco’s experience in sports and entertainment is expected to help McLaren gain a “competitive edge” to drive its performance in Formula 1.
McLaren will have Cisco’s full portfolio of “at their disposal,” including networking, Wi-Fi, digital signage, and collaboration.

For instance, Cisco will collaborate with McLaren to explore and pilot technologies, such as upgrading race day wireless deployment to Wi-Fi 6E to ensure fast and reliable communication among all team members.
Cisco will also continue working to improve the networking infrastructure at the team’s headquarters at the McLaren Technology Centre in Surrey, U.K., including hybrid network solutions and the cloud-based location services platform DNA Spaces to optimize productivity.
The latest partnership between the organizations builds on the relationship between McLaren Racing and Webex by Cisco, the official collaboration partner of the F1 team.
