Sumo Logic Hires Chief Product and HR Officers

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. — The data analytics software provider Sumo Logic is welcoming two C-suite executives.

Sumo Logic hired Tej Redkar as its chief product officer, a new position, and Sophie Kitson as its chief human resources officer, according to the company this month. 

They will be members of the company’s senior executive team and report to Sumo Logic President and CEO Ramin Sayar.

The pair bring “deep experience” globally scaling product development and human resources functions.

Sayar said they will help “further build out the strong executive team and experience that will lead the company to longer-term global scale and profitable growth.”

Tej Redkar, chief product officer

Redkar’s business and technical expertise will help Sumo Logic drive its strategy and execution.

He brings domain knowledge to Sumo Logic, as he’s versed in observability, analytics cloud computing, SaaS, DevOps, and autonomous infrastructure. 

Most recently, Redkar was the chief product officer at LogicMonitor, where he led a product development team of several hundred engineers and product managers. 

Previously, he led engineering, product management, UX, and data science teams at various enterprises, including Microsoft, Cisco/AppDynamics, IBM, and SAP. 

Redkar said he’s “thrilled” to join the “seasoned executive team as well as the innovative product and engineering organization.”

Sophie Kitson, chief human resources officer

Kitson is a strategic HR executive with experience ranging from startup to global technology and services companies. 

She has helped build talent-centric organizations and scalable operational systems at several companies, including Mercury Interactive, Salesforce, Nimsoft, and PagerDuty. 

Kitson also spent a decade at Accenture as a developer and a client-facing consultant.

Kitson said she’ll help Sumo Logic scale to “further attract, retain, and develop the best talent and create career-defining experiences for our people.”

Catching up with Sumo Logic

Sumo Logic has around 980 employees, according to LinkedIn.

The company’s Continuous Innovation Platform is intended to help companies develop reliable and secure cloud-native applications.

It serves over 2,100 clients, such as Akamai, Pitney Bowes, and Ulta Beauty.

Sumo Logic is operating in a growing sector. The advanced analytics market is estimated to be valued at $40 billion in 2022 and grow to $189 billion by 2030, according to a report by Grand View Research.

Founded in 2010, Sumo Logic listed on Nasdaq in 2020.

The company has a market capitalization of around $870 million, as of late May 2022.
